Skip said that LSU fans had requested over 16,000 tickets to the SECCG. How many do we get? 16,000 doesn't sound like an awful lot. I have 6 applications that come to my house (we have tickets in our family in 6 different names). I applied for 8 SECCG on each application. There's 48 right there. Further, I have to think that many people requested between 10-100 tickets. I realize that he sent this out Wednesday and was probably based upon numbers gathered on Tuesday. Since the application had to be postmarked by this past Monday, I'm sure they'll have MANY more applications come in by Friday. So, that 16,000 figure will go up. But, by how much. And, don't we get like 15,000-20,000 ticket to the game? In any event, it seems like most of those who applied should get tickets. BTW, I made SURE that the Cyberchat said that "LSU fans applied for more than 16,000 TICKETS" and NOT "16,000 LSU season ticket holders applied for tickets".
Bud, perhaps you should email Brian Broussard or his assistant, Tiffany at the LSU ticket office. They have answered my questions in the past. I would hate to have their job if the Tigers get an invite to the Sugar! No matter how they handle the ticket sales, it will be wrong.
I've spoken with Brian quite a few times. SUPER nice guy. And, he doesn't have much control over how or to whom the tickets are distributed. He basically does what he is told. But, I can assure you that there is already a system in place and it will be made public ASAP. Skip learned his lesson from the last Sugar Bowl fiasco. I've spoken with Skip just about that and he realizes the PR errors he made in 2001. The tickets may be distributed in just the same way/proportions, but Skip will make sure that it doesn't LOOK bad - like it did in 2001. In any event, I'll probably still do a Public Records Document request just to see who got what. ME - Uncle Gus and I are already lined up for some sweet seats. Gus has a connection!!!
