Sorry to post this here, but we cannot get through to family and the news says that tornados touched down near where they live. If you know anything, would be grateful for any info. Thanks
My family is in Prairieville. I know it's not too close, but it's closer than BR. They say everything is fine over there... Sorry I can't give any more information about Walker.
I talked to my mom and they live in Albany and the had a pine tree crush their 5th wheel. The only good thing about that is if the 5th wheel would not have been there it would have crushed the house. And from what they said there seemed to be alot of wind damage wiether it is just from the wind or a tornado I dont know.
Phone service was out off and on all day and night to the area, but I was finally able to reach my parents in the Watson area. They had gotten out after the storm to survey damage, and they said that while they couldn't venture too far because of so many trees in the roads, that Livingston Parish was incredibly littered with debris. They also said that from 12-2 yesterday that Katrina made Andrew look like a picnic.
In Denham... Power (Demco) came back on a couple of hours ago. The backside of Katrina did a lot of damage out here, more so than the frontside. She was nasty!
It's one of those large campers (or trailers) that have the hitch connection in the tailgate of the truck.
Where on N Walker??? I have been down Walker N to check on my rent house and my In-law's house who are in San Antonio. I did not see anything to indicate a tornado, but there is a ton of trees laid over power lines. Demco told me it will likely be friday or saturday before they get power back over there.
