on next year on the schedule. I've herd that it could be K-State and we would play them here next year and in Manhattan in 2004. The y would be a great series. Also Colorado State is being thrown around. Just wanted to know if anybody knows anything else about this.
Marshall's excuse Marshall says that they are canceling the game so they can play on National TV on Friday night. Why don't we agree to play them on Friday night in Tiger Stadium? That way both teams would get the unapposed exposure of a Friday night ESPN game. Sounds like a win win situation to me.
You try and get LSU fans to have a Friday night game. Good luck. We would have to basically shut down the campus all Friday. A home game will never happen on a day other than Saturday.
Thundering Herd Moooooove? Why should we change our schedule for Marshall? I mean, they've been D1A HOW long??? They should be honored to play at Tiger Stadium. If they want to show off their ugly field on ESPN, who cares? I'd rather have K-State than Marshall. It would be a victory for Marshall if they made us move the game time for them.
A few years ago when I was still in school @ LSU there would be a fall day (or something) that was on the Friday before LSU's first home game each year. The band would have a pep rally in the Quad with the cheerleaders, etc. and all of my teachers basically called off class. Why not just officially give a day off to the campus and have a Friday night game? I agree it may be a victory for them to make us change our schedule but we can use that as a little motivation to put the hammer down. I think we can really humiliate them on national TV and they deserve it. I guess it depends on what our replacement options are but filling it with other Louisiana schools (like ULM) doesn't appeal to me much.
I think it's called Fall Fest and that would be great for the students but it would mess up the other 70,000 people that go to games and have jobs.
Re: Marshall's excuse The 2 main Reasons why this will never ever happen at LSU is because 1) High school football in Louisiana is a Religion just like High school ball in Texas. Coaches, Fans, and the players (recruits) will be pissed because they can't watch. 2) Friday is a school day and a work day and tiger stadium would be about half full, and that is taking money out of the University's pocket, so in reality its a Lose-Lose situation for us.
