The law suit against LSU raising ticket prices seems to be open and shut. Wasn't reason the TAF was formed was to get around all this red tape? Technically, the ticket prices are not going up, but there will be a donation requirement. Any lawyers know how this going to work out?
First, the new ticket prices ISN'T through TAF, just to clear that up. The Legislature wouldn't allow TAF to gain control of more seats. Therefore, LSU implemented a surcharge on seats that was OK'd by the Board of Supervisors. Legislation states that any new fees concerning the university should go before the legislature. However, Richard Ieyoub, as the Attorney General, advised Skip Bertman that it was his understanding that the law in question only pertained to ACADEMIC fees, not fees dealing with athletics. It isn't about TAF, it is about the head legal mind of the state declaring what the law meant. This kid is an idiot for even trying.
