Texas State (formerly SWT) was looking into it a couple of years ago, but haven't done anything untill they can consistently 12,000 to attend home games. They are also ranked #5 in Div 1-AA....

"Susie, bring me the white out. There we go, change that 0 to a 2. Good, now send this off to the NCAA for me. Thanks. Remind me later to move an extra $2,000.00 over to the general athletic fund."

"Who are we pimping our boys out to this week?"

I don't know of any. When the NCAA started letting Division I teams count I-AA wins towards bowl eligibility it really helped Div. I-AA teams a lot. Many of the schools that went I-A were forced to because of they needed the big payouts in order to help fund other/minor sports. Now those schools can remain in I-AA still get the big payout and still compete at their level.

Univ. of Central Arkansas will move from Div. II to I-AA and become members of the Southland Conference. Former Nicholls player and La Tech coach Clint Conque is the head coach there.

When I read a while back that Northern Colorado was moving to Division I, I assumed it was I-A, not I-AA. That was around the same time the news came out about 1) the rules were changed to count an I-AA win every year instead of every four years for bowl eligibility, 2) the 12 game schedule, and 3) the change in attendance requirements. The “news” about Northern Colorado stuck with me because I was thinking they were really watering things down in DI-A. Sorry about that, thanks for finding the correct info.
