So was I Bubba. I was as mad and frustrated as anyone out there at the way they were playing, but YOU NEVER BOO YOUR OWN TEAM. It doesn't matter to me how bad they are playing, if you call yourself a fan, you don't boo the team you cheer for.
You need to turn up the volume on the t.v because everybody else heard it, including the recruits who were visiting as well as the t.v. announcers, one of whom even remarked, "First game of the year and they've already forgotten about that national championship last year." It really reflects poorly on the program when the fans boo.....I know some people defend it by saying they pay good money for their seats and they have the right to express how they feel, and I agree they do. I also have the right to say it makes the LSU faithful look like a bunch of fair-weather, cry-babies. That's a fact. Way to represent the institution! Real class....also while I'm on it there are a good number of posts around here that are pathetic. What the hell do you people expect? I can't believe the reaction of some of you. What would you be saying if we had actually lost? Keep the panic attacks to yourselves, please. We still have a kick-ass D, great coaching staff (I admit they blew it last night) and talent all over, albeit young and inexperienced. I still say we will be in Atlanta at season's end.
When Randall threw the pass into the bench at the end of the first half is when the boo's were the worst, I hardly noticed any other than that. People are fickle, what can you do. Those are the same people who left when we failed on the 4th and goal from the 2. Too many drunks, too many people who have unreal expectations, and too many fickle fans. It was embarassing.
In my section I heard more Oh's and ughs than boos and it felt like it was directed more at the overall play of the offense more than any individual player. There were many many fans displeased and just plain shocked with the offensive performanceas a whole. I think JR got a big aplause at the start of the 2nd half because fans wanted to see something different from what they saw in the first half and would have been the same had MF come into the game at that point. How fans left the game before it was over in such a close game never ceases to amaze me just as much as those socialites that have to ask "who won" as they leave the game.
I don't remember hearing boos, I just know that in the second half when they put in Russel the student section started clapping.
The only real booing was when Randall sailed the ball 10 yards over a wide open JV's head at the end of the first half. The whole place boo'ed for that one.
