I know it happens every year. They always have these up standing students ? Who wear the FU shirts and make it a point to drown out the crowd with profanity. I mean, come on, I get excited, we all do, but it is so obvious that these aren't fans they are just stupid kids who probably don't know anything about football. It sort of hit home yesterday at the Tulane game. I have seen these things before but it never happened to my family.

I was working yesterday and not able to make the game. My sister-in-law called after the game to inform me that LSU fans are trash. My sister-in-law and family are Tulane fans. They were at the game and she told me they were outraged at some of the Tiger fans. She explained that during the second half my brother-in-law and his 10 year old son went to get a drink. Upon returning to their seats a young girl told the small boy, "If you wear that green shirt again I am going to cut your d-ck off!" Now what the hell is that all about? I have been a long time fan, traveling fan, since I was 5 and I am now 37. I have seen drunken students and fans do this sort of thing before but not to the amount that I see today. I saw a LSU student, not fan, at the Tennessee game a few years back. The guy made fun of a handicap Tennessee kid. He was in the kids face going “duuu duuu”. I told the LSU student that he didn’t deserve to wear the purple and gold. He just rolled his eyes at me. I told the Tennessee fans that I was ashamed and that this is not what LSU fans are all about. I am outraged!

We have the most wonderful fan base I have ever seen. I just want to make it a point to all our visiting fans, that these people are not LSU fans, they are people who get caught up in emotion and never really understand the love for the game. True fans have a love for the game. I think that people who aren't true fans get the wrong idea when we chant things like, "Eat em up". They take these things seriously. It is a game and that is all. I love the game but you can cross the line. I want LSU to win every game as a fan but if they don't I will survive. It is sometimes difficult and at times I have even argued with fans of our opponent but it never gets personal. I have hated opposing fans before but not for real. It is just a game. I love this game and take very seriously but people are people. They hate us the same. Where is the love for our kids!

It is not just some LSU fans. It is a complete breakdown in our society/families that has been going on for some time now in this country.

I watched the game on TV, so I don't have first hand knowledge, but I'm willing to bet a paycheck that a large percentage of people wearing Purple and Gold at the Dome were not your normal Tiger Stadium crowd. I only go to N.O. for championships and BCS bowl games. There's no way I venture into that environment for anything less. I'm sorry to hear that there was a lot of scum at the game. It's N.O....what did you expect?

That is very unfortunate, its up to us to straighten out our own fans. I have more often than not said "Dude shut up you are making a fool of all us, have some respect" However maybe not in this case, but I would be careful when opposing fans "Pile on" LSU fans. yes we have our share of miserable fans, they come out in droves when the team is winning. But I have been to Auburn, UF, A&M and trust me we are no worse then other places. (UF the worst I could ever remember) I have found a "Tiger Bait" very often morph's into "LSU fans raped our cattle, beat up my grandmother, and killed my dog" I remember a certain team from the SEC west were claiming LSU Fans were throwing bags of urine from the upper decks. Which is the most absurd thing i have ever heard.
I discovered awhile ago a losing team will turn Tiger Bait into a terrorist attack more so when they get beat.

But you are correct all of us (not just LSU) need to tell some of these idiots that think College Football is a good excuse to get pounded and make an ass of themselves to zip it, but that it isnt just an LSU thing. As Edyel said, its a societal thing

I have been to just tons of traveling games and I have to disagree with you. LSU stands out as a bad egg. Maybe it's because we drink so damn much. I am not against drinking believe me. I missed a game once cause I was to loaded to enter the stadium. Not a happy moment for my girlfriend, now wife. I know it will continue just wanted to express how i felt. I will not join them is all i am saying.
