in October, Auburn plays 3 teams currently ranked in the top 10 (UT, Arkansas, LSU), 2 of them on the road(Arkansas and LSU). In addition, we play MSU @ Starkville . In October we play Ole Miss, ULM, then finish the year off with UGA (at Athens) and bam . . October is going to dictate the season for us
strength of schecule I just checked the ncaa cumulative strength of schedule which will come into play in the BCS and LSU's rank is 100th!!! Future schedule we are ranked 49th. We know LSU has a tough road ahead, but because of some SEC teams slumping, alabama 2-3(unranked), Ole Piss 2-2 (unranked!!!), La. Tech 2-2 (unranked), Auburn 2-2 (unranked), Florida 3-2(24), S. Carolina 3-2(unranked), Arkansas 4-0(8), nationally we aren't going to be given much respect in regards to tough schedule. Maybe tough games with Florida and Arkansas.
Well, anyway you slice it, we have to win the SECCG to even think of playing for the MNC. That isnt considered in SOS until after the game takes place. Conference championship games always add a big SOS boost at just the right time. The two teams in the SECCG have a good chance of both being in the top 10, so it will be a high profile matchup to the voters as well as the computers.
chill out LSUsupaFan........ your right Auburn isn't in the top 10, but they could very well beat some top 10 teams coming down the stretch. Chuck was just stating that they have a very tough schedule coming up..(probably one of the toughest in the nation), lets take it easy on them...That AU game scares the hell out of me!!!!
I know it's the nature of fandom but I am more than a little uncomfortable talking about undefeated scenarios and national championships. I can only set rules for myself so my rule from this point on is to talk about the next game only. If I violate my own rule, please call me out immediately.
