Shouldn't the other 92% be required to pay in a bit more? The sheer numbers of people who pay nothing or minimal income tax are staggering. I am tired of supporting those who refuse to support themselves. See my previous quote, "Send me a check." Get to work and earn a check...Pay some taxes and lighten my burden.

Oh, by all means. People who for a living and are trying to get by should make life easier for the idle rich. :rolleye33:

Most of them are working poor, unemployment is low in this country. Minimum wage earners can barely pay for rent, food, and transportation. How are they going to pay 25% taxes too? It would just put them on welfare and cost us more money anyway.

I am far from idle. I own two businesses, one is a startup that will employ 8 people, all quality jobs. They don't have to pay 25% taxes, but they need to do better.

And as far as EICs go, what a joke. I have personnaly seen several people keep their paper earnings down so they can continue to receive EIC from Uncle Sam. What a farce. If you don't have a job, its because you don't want one. There are plenty of > Min Wage jobs out there. :bncry:

And all min-wage workers trying to move up to one, obviously. But there are also plenty of minimum wage jobs out there. We need janitorial, food service, and sanitation workers, too. Those people are working, they just aren't making much money. So they aren't paying much tax. That's a perk to help them get by. So is a digital converter coupon. It ain't that big of a deal.

To wrangle this slightly back on topic...

The Senate has approved the 4 month delay. The A/D switch will now occur on June 12th. They did not, however, make any mention of allocating more funds to the coupon program.
