So soon after making Bo Nix look like Johnny Manziel on crack ( prob still is) I pondered if I should really go here but stirring the doo doo is what I DO so well. So here goes . IF I WERE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR ASSuming- he keeps the locker room , we keep seeing effort every game , no off field issues , brawls date rapes etc etc etc .——- I bring Baby Huey back in ‘22. Yeah he’s headed in the wrong direction , yes he’s taking eyes off the prize and yes he’s always going to be the bumpkin who backed into the pay window . BUT - he’s always been underestimated , dismissed and written off as a joke . With that said he’s always survived by turning adversity around . He deserves the chance to do so here. 2019 was golden. 2020 was an anomaly . This season new coordinators finding their pace and a new qb at a distinct disadvantage because of perhaps the worst run game in the program’s history are hardships that could — COULD be corrected. Give him the dreaded vote of confidence endure the slings and arrows of an impatient angry fan base ( many of whom left last night AT HALFTIME - Pussy assed front runners) and give him this off season to go round up some Samoan o linemen looking to transfer out of Fresno. The guy won us a natty. We owe him this much. It’s the rules at a reputable program. We gave Elmer the right to avoid a death march in’16. He failed. We owe Baby Huey the same opportunity.
Right now the only reason O comes back in 2022 is because LSU doesn't have the $21 million for the buyout.
The Miles firing was a debacle. O has had what, 5 years, to bring in OL; so far awful. O depends on hiring the best coordinators; if he brings in coordinators often they either have a ton of success or a ton of failure. So far he hasn’t hired one good coordinator. He didn’t realize what he had in passing game coordinator Brady and backed into that. He’s had to fire too many coordinators and staff who were awful hires. These new guys have potential, but we can’t afford for his coordinators to develop. We don’t have the HC to bridge that. The only argument for keeping O at this point is we don’t want to spend that kind of money. But every year he stays, the brand is scarred that much more. I kind of believe we’ve been living in the carcass of Saban, and those bones are picked clean. We’re left with an overzealous compliance department (who for some reason sat on their hands for domestic abuse, but they’re all over pot). Academic center who couldn’t keep our starting RB clear to play. And O, a Miles clone staring dumbly in the night while we run for 60 yards. Ive got my knives out. Ready for O to go.
The gap between LSU and Alabama gets wider every year O is in charge. The only way to stop that trend is to bring in someone with a higher level of competence than what we have now. Saban proved yesterday that Kiffen is not that guy.
