TiVO or tape the game. And somehow, somehow avert your eyes from the scoreboard, turn off your cell, try anything not to hear the score of that game. Watch it in the comfort of your own home and breeze through the commercials. I think you may regret skipping a World Series game, a free one at that.
Pardon me for saying this, but you're a dumbass idiot if you don't go to the World Series game. That's a once and a lifetime chance...especially in Chicago....geez! LSU is playing a regular season game that you can record on your TIVO, VCR, etc. I was in Chicago for the LSU game vs. Tennessee and went to the sports bar where the LSU Alumni go to, and it wasn't all that.
Or NLMD. Hell, I'd even pony up some cash, if it was reasonable. I have HD Tivo, so I could still catch the Tigahs in all their 1080 splendor!!!
The White Sox in the WS.....at 1K a seat. Times have changed... Back when Harry Caray was a White Sox announcer, Harry was finishing up his dinner at a local bar when a fan recognized him and asked him what time the game started that evening. Harry glanced at the fan, and asked, "What time can you make it, we'll wait for you."
You should check yourself into a mental institution for questioning this because you are indeed crazy for having these thoughts. Just wait until after you skip baseball and watch the LSU game to do it.
Having lived in Chicago for the last few years (moved about 11 months ago), I can just imagine what the city is like with the Sox in the series. It is probably not quite like it would be were the Cubs to have made it in '03, but it still must be electric. This is definitely a once in a lifetime or at least a very rare opportunity. LSU plays Auburn every year, and we already have one loss. If it were the difference between the World Series and LSU playing for the national championship, that would be one thing. But this "dilemma" doesn't even need its own thread. Have fun at "the Cell," tigerintn. And Geaux Sox.
Another vote to get a Tivo - especially since you're so far out of LSU country, the chances of having the LSU game ruined should be slim. Go enjoy the World Series, listen to nothing but CDs on the way home, and start watching the LSU game from the beginning. Enable the 30 second skip feature and you can watch every single play in about 90-120 minutes, depending on how often you do your own instant replays, etc.
actually you should watch the LSU game and not attend the WS since your heart really wasn't in it initially. tell your boss you know someone who'd use the ticket and not to worry. check your pm for my cell #.
No Tiger fan is allowed to do anything out of the ordinary Sat. night. What are you trying to do, jinx us? :hihi:
