I just love to watch SMART football players and a great scheme... gotta respect a scheme that revolves around the FULLBACK! I love when they show the majors of the Naval Academy guys... Tomlinson's was listed as "Surface Warfare"... Nice :thumb:
i was just messing with him. Hell, what do I care....I had no shot at getting into either of them.
Well....could you have been an "average" high school football player? Because if you had, and lived in New England, you very well could have gotten in to BC. Might not have started or earned a lot of playing time because BC does have decent talent, but their depth is laughable compaired to big-time programs--something that BC and it's fans still claim than they are because of their 7,8,9-game bowl winning steak (or whatever it is)...only problem is that BC must be the biggest "big-time" program to annually play in the Mineke Car Care bowl, the MPC Bowl or the Music City Bowl.... Lived in Boston the past 5 years and while I was there, you should see the converage that some of their recruits were receiving--and they were nationally 2* recruits! You would think BC was bringing in 4 and 5 star players!
My father-in-law is a Navy grad, and I got in his bowl pool...and picked BC. Had Navy pulled that out, I would have not heard the end of it -- EVER. I'm inexplicably 15 of 18 on bowls thus far, and if Iowa pulls it out, make it 16/19.
It's a shame Johnson isn't as smart as many of his players evidentally, running an option play at that point was crazy. I feel really bad for the Navy players whose coach cost them the game.
Good point. Yeah, playing with the lead with only a little over a minute left when your opponent has no timeouts left and you're tossing the ball around on option plays with sloppy, rainy field conditions isn't the smartest move.
