I recorded Satan's PC and just watched it. Please let me find the bathroom fast because Im gonna puke.
In comparison, one can appreciate Miles' accomplishment when you look at Saban's records at LSU: (And even if it would be true that it's Saban's recruits- which is far from true cause Miles' kids were big contributors this year- why is it that Miles wins more games??) The coaching must have something to do with it. I'd hate to see what would be said of Miles if he lost 5 games next year with his own recruits. 2000 8-4 Peach 2001 10-3 Sugar 2002 8-5 Cotton (Lost) 2003 13-1 Sugar 2004 9-3 Capital O (Lost)
Just listened to the complete audio of his presser. He actually used words like character, trust, respect. Simply amazing. This man has no shame...
Alabama has hired them a 60 to 65% winning percentage coach. $32 million for a coach that wins 2 of every 3 games. "BRILLIANT"
If I got it correctly, as Tirk mentioned in another thread yesterday, Saban had it all schemed out, angling at getting recruits at the expense of LSU; if his decision announcement affected LSU's play and LSU lost, the more strength to his program for recruiting. IF they won, he was ready to take credit. Pretty cunning, MrOCredibility.
You reap what you sow... I hope that potential recruits and those who are advising them can see through Saban's BS and opt NOT to play for him. I am happy what he did for LSU, but sickened by his behavior. He's a total hypocrite with no integrity. I'm not one to wish people to fail; however, I would like to see him get his just desserts... :geauxtige
Regardless of what the "new" LSU fans believe and whatever Au has going with BAMA that goes way back, LSU and BAMA has always been a top rivlary. If anyone here was around during the CHolly MAC era, they'd know that the ONLY reason LSU didn't win the SEC often and nearly EVERY year was Bama. traditionally we'd play Ole miss and the chant at the end of the game was We want BAMA. Why? because we would beat the Rebels and then everyone knew BAMA was the team to beat in the SEC. sure Pat Dye and Johnny Majors, vince Dooley had some great years, but by and large the SEC was defined by how BAMA played LSU. the toughest team Bama played all year WAS LSU. The NC game was easy after coming to Tiger stadium, Bear himself would tell you that. People I've said it more than once on this board, if Bama and Ole MISS aren't on your list of most hated opponents, YOU ARE STILL WET BEHIND THE EARS AS AN LSU FAN. PERIOD. :yelwink2: Auburn just wasn't an issue back then and the rivalry with Au has only started to imerge in the last 4-5 years. The Bama/Ole Miss Rivalry went on for MANY YEARS. But as usual when a team's performance falls off, your rival ceases to be your rival when they aren't able to toe the line.
IF this statement holds up, then it would be an irony if something happens to Alabama down the road similar to what the Fins got because of the way they paid big bucks to lure Saban from LSU.
I don't think it was because of money. I said it was in an earlier thread but now I think it is about EGO. He cant stand to lose. Even if his credibility suffers from it. He honestly believes he can make a mountain out of the Mole hill that is Alabama football. He thought that when he went to Miami or he wouldnt have left LSU. His only loyalty is to feed his Ego. he is actually being honest to...himself. but that is it. He will do anything to feed that EGO. he has to be on top. Actually it isn't a bad quality in a coach ..unless you take it to the extreme like Saban has. A coach needs some humilty too, like Weiss had by taking ther blame for the game, like Miles had for giving credit to his players and saying Quinn and Weiss are still good at what they do. THAt is the sign of a great coach, confidance with Humility, not arrogance and lies. Saban doesn't need money, he wants control and acolades. he wants limelight. Not making the playoffs in the Pro's is dull, when a .500 team can make them. He can't accept that. Had Miami won 3 -4 more games he wouldn't be at Bama today. saban is the type fellow that could work with you on a project and feel very honest about taking all the credit when the boss came around. and HE HONESTLY believes it is him and all him. and why not? these people have built him up with salaries and attn. I don't blame Saban as much as I blame Bama, and the Dolphins. dont get me wrong Saban's work ethic is great, he can turn a program around, but there is more to it than the magic of one man. it takes a dedicated University with facilities and a "hotbed" to recruit from... a very good DC and OC.... etcc .etcc and even then a NC isn't guaranteed. You have at least 6-12 other GREAT NCAA Div 1 programs pushing for that spot with great coaches and good recruits and excellent facilities. the VOLS recruit well every year and so does Miami, but that doesn't always equate to the Cyrstal football. One day after a few more failures, Saban will wake up and realize he should have never left LSU. he may already be regretting it but he is telling himself he can re-create that at Bama. why not I'm coach Nick Saban right? Bama hired me so I must be as good as Bear right? WRONG NICK. He is what you call "full of self" haughty and prideful. and what is that old Saying??? Pride goeth before the fall. JS
