Well, the NCAA ranks him as #6. Getting kind of cocky, eh? I think the only way Bama stifles LSU's rushing game is to play man coverage on our very capable receivers. Nick won't make that mistake. A balanced offense means balance between the pass and the run. You think that LSU can't run because they run for fewer yards than Bama. I'm pointing out that both offenses are balanced between run and pass and this makes it impossible for a defense to sell out against one or the other. I think you are dreaming to expect Bama to hold LSU to under 50 yards rushing without leaving itself vulnerable to the pass.
With all due respect, what the hell do you think teams punt for, if not field position?  I fail to see how this affects field position. a third down can come at any place on the field. Watch and learn, amigo.
Not yet they haven't been physically dominated... Not yet is the key word... And agree to disagree on the rest. If you look into it, you will determine that overall, Alabama has the deeper team. There are areas that LSU has more depth, but overall, Bama has more.
Depth only counts in certain places. Specifically ... Defensive Line. LSU has two complete, equally effective D lines. That's 8 guys, who all could start on any team in the Nation. I mean .. how many more do you need?? Denfensive Backs ... We demonstrated last week, that we don't even need two of our top D-backs. Pretty academic! QB ... LSU has two competent, Senior QBs capable of running the offense. If McCarron goes down .... now, just what are you guys gonna do?? RBs. LSU proved last week, you can take away Ware, and we run just fine if not better without him. I mean, if I were Bama, I'd be glad Ware is back, because I guarantee you that Bama's line will not hold Hilliard to zero yards. Can you cay that about Trent Richardson?? OK .. it'd be hard to replace RR. But it's pretty much a given, LSU is better in the WR core than Bama ... at least that is what the "experts" are sayin. O-Line ... here is my only worry. But from what I hear, Bama has the same issue. Great O-Line guys are just hard to find. Lonergan is supposed to back, and if so, that will help out our O-line situation. I don't know Tappy .. I think you ate a lot of beans last night with regards to this post. It's nice wishful thinking ...but IMO, it's a lot of hot air.
Take off the Gump Glasses and explain. LSU has played 81 so far this year how can you realisticly say you have more depth. Bench riders do not count.:tigereye:
Agree to disagree... I have seen stats like this, in different categories, come into play all season with teams around the nation. I am a college football handicapper, and I have pretty much watched every team in the nation play at some point. I am not bragging on myself, I am just trying to make a point.
That wasn't posted to determine which team is more capable of scoring... It was posted to determine the advantages of field position, against the advantages/disadvantages of the special teams.
I just think that when you look at the stats of these 2 teams they are so close, across the board, that it is like splitting hairs.
