After reading this board all week I decided to look into our boy Jimmy Sexton so I googled him and found this old Q/A from March of 04 he says some pretty intereting stuff about Saban, the NFL, and his commitment to LSU.

Q - Were you surprised Nick Saban decided to stay at LSU instead of jumping to the NFL?

A - When Nick left Cleveland to go to Michigan State, everyone said, 'Well how long will he be in college?' We're sitting here 10 years later and he's still in college.

I was not really surprised. The one thing people fail to realize is that with the way money has increased in college football, when you are a head coach in college football, you are your own boss. Yeah, there's an athletic director and a president. Not to take anything away from those guys because (LSU AD) Skip Bertman and (LSU chancellor) Mark Emmert are great people to work for at LSU, but they don't really bother Nick Saban. They let him run the program. He is the CEO, he is the personnel director, he is the head coach.

When you go into the pro game . . . there's an owner, there's a GM, there's all sorts of things.

Is that to say he would never go to the NFL? You never know. I felt like with the commitment LSU made to him, to make him the highest paid coach in the country and things like that, I felt like he would always stay there.

I can't seem to find a photo of Jimmy Sexton on the net. Does he really exist ? Maybe he's really someone we all know like Buddy D. Does all his work by phone and is never seen by his clients or their prospective employers. Has his money wired to the Caymans or cash only, large bills. Leading a double life and rolling in the dough.

By the way when I informed my 9 year old son that Saban is considering taking the Dolphins job he tearfully exclaimed: "If Coach Saban leaves, LSU is gonna stink !" Of course, his is wrong but passions run deep for the Old War Skule !
