1. Good News...

I did a Google search on "incoherent coaches" and found nothing relating to LSU.

    Here's the link...

  2. I've gotten the impression after hearing from some players that they also don't know what Coach Miles is saying half the time. They respect him and think highly of him as a person but not the same level as a coach
  3. well that's certainly never a good thing...

if a player doesn't respect his coach, well i don't think i have to spell it out.
  4. I hope we are just being paranoid and players do understand and respect Coach Miles. I would think that his strong recruiting is proof that parents and players respect and understand Miles.
  5. Steve, did you ask the guy why, if he knows so much, he's still a high school coach?

  6. Tom Landry had the legendary face of stone on the sideline, and I'd say he did pretty well for himself. But if you're not seeing or feeling any intensity at all, in practice or elsewhere, then you're not going to show any intensity or act with any urgency on the field, and that's exactly what we've been seeing. I start to wonder if it was actually Jimbo and Pelini getting in people's faces those first 3 years, but there's been a definite shift in team mentality for the worse. And no amount of great recruiting is going to fix that.

  7. Entirely plausible. It's Gonzales' first season with LSU so he could be trying to feel things out as well. Certainly something to keep an eye on because Gonzales is a definite up-and-comer and a guy we want to hang around.

Bull****. Coaches at every level build the scheme to fit the player. If they can do it on the H.S. level, they can do it on every level. WMHS was successful running a spread offense one year and triple option the next, all because of the QBs and depth (or lack of depth at WR and RB they had. Look at Texas running the read option with Vince Young then a more tradition Pro Set offense with Colt McCoy. Look at FSU runni9ng a Pro Style offense historically, but when Charlie Ward was their QB they revamped their offensive scheme in mid-season of his Junior year! The next season they won a Nat'l Title.

Hell, the LSU defense changes schemes multiple times in one game depending on personnel. Adapting your schemes to the players you have if Coaching 101. At least for successful coaches...
  8. I also think this is the GC's last year. Matter of fact I think last year was actually his last. That wasn't Crowton's offense I saw in the spring scrimmage. I can understand friction between BG and GC if that is in fact the case.

Interestingly I have always been able to understand CLM in his press conferences. It's in the games at halftime when the little girl comes running up with the mike and asks
a question that he seems to stumble.

I'm sure an assistant High School football coach knows more than me but RS is not the best athlete on the team. Patrick Peterson is and by far.
  9. I have to agree with MLUTiger. I read somewhere that Texas is going to a more Pro-Style offense to fit Garrett Gilbert's skills. Also, look at what Ohio St. has done for Pryor.
However, the bold part is true, unfortunately.
  10. PP is the best athlete on the team. However, Shep isn't far behind.
