I just want to bring some context to this discussion. People act as if COVID is some sort of big killer and is wreaking havoc on the human population. But here is the reality. In the 85+ year old demographic, COVID has been pretty brutal. There is a 1/97 chance that a person in that age bracket will contract and die from COVID. .... HOWEVER .. it has to be put into context that this same demographic has a 1/7 odds of dying in any given year. The addition of COVID to this group increases their odds of dying from 1/7 to 1.07/7. So it adds .07 risk to their already dismal outlook. Let's move to the 20-44 year old group. They have a baseline of dying of 1/465. Their COVID risk is 1/1500. That additional risk adds 0.3 to their overall risk. So their overall risk of dying goes from 1/465 to 1.3/465. I give you these numbers to put COVID into context. COVID is not having the impact that the major news media would have us all believe.
