Was that Gilbert kid from Texas a true freshman?

"should", but probably won't. not JJ's fault, though.

I thought he did better as the year went on. I think I saw a stat that said LSU only gave up 7 points off TO's in the regular season. That itself was a victory after JLee shattered the records for pick sixes.

Whatever happened to the quick slant though? We threw a few deep passes in some of the early games and went to that too much. Pains me that he can't throw the horizontal quick pass well, but he did better w/ that in the arkansas game w/ his throws in the flats to Ridley. I still enjoy watching Tolliver freaking the UW defenders when JJ actually gave him a pass he could work with.

Hopefully we give him a little more freedom to check off on single coverages and mismatches next year and exploit the other team instead of ourselves.

Read that JJ has a 4.0 GPA on the other board, can anyone confirm this?
  5. Re: "A more experienced Jordan Jefferson at quarterback should enable the Tigers to be better in 201

If even almost true, it should put to rest all those comments about JJ not being smart enough to learn the playbook and it had to be simplified for him. I always thought that those kind of comments were unfounded, unwarranted and designed to uphold someone's arguments at the expense of a young college kid.

I agree. People who say they saw no improvement were not paying attention. He played better in every game, and if that cheapshot didn't take him out the game against Bama, I think he would have lead us to a road vitory over the #1 team in the land.

Next year will prevent some challenges, but I feel confident that with any improvement in the offensive line play and the running game, that JJ will flourish.

Mike Detillier has said many times that the next time an LSU player holds up a crystal ball it will be Jefferson. I'll take his grade on the kid over pretty much anyone else's.
