Since we’re not on the team, we can speculate and peek ahead. LSU only moved 3 spots in the Coaches Poll, but remain the highest ranked team with two losses and ahead of Florida, Ohio State, Missouri, and Southern Miss.

What our ranking and record do not indicate is the fact that we are through the thick of the schedule, going into a bye weekend with key injuries, returning to the friendly confines of Tiger Stadium for 4 straight games, and, although we must keep focused, we have climbed the hill and survived the rough road schedule intact. Here is the outlook for the Top 20:

    # 1 – USC – only one ranked team per year need apply, thanks Cal - oh, fine, we’ll play Arizona State too…

    # 2 – OU – looking great, still to play @ Oklahoma State, Conference Championship Game

    # 3 – Miami (4-0) – still to face Louisville, @ NC State, Clemson, @ UVA, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech

    # 4 – Auburn (6-0) – still to face Georgia, looking good, still to play Conference Championship Game

    # 5 – Purdue (5-0) – still to face Wisconsin, Michigan, @ Iowa, Ohio State

    # 6 – UVA (5-0) – still to play @ Florida State, Maryland, Miami, @ Georgia Tech, @ Virginia Tech

    # 7 – Florida State (4-1) – still to face UVA, @ Maryland, @ Wake Forest, @ NC State, Florida

    # 8 – Georgia (4-1) – still to face Florida, @ Auburn, Georgia Tech, possible Conference Championship Game

    # 9 – Cal (3-1) – still to face UCLA, Arizona State, @ Washington, Stanford, @ Southern Miss

    # 10 – Utah (5-0) – If you care, look it up…

    # 11 – Texas (4-1) – still OU’s bitch, still to face Missouri, @ Texas Tech, @ Colorado, Oklahoma State, Texas A & M, possible Conference Championship Game

    # 12 – Wisconsin (6-0) – still to play @ Purdue, Minnesota, @ Michigan State, @ Iowa

    # 13 – Michigan (5-1) – still to play @ Purdue, Michigan State, @ Ohio State

    # 14 – Tennessee (4-1) – looking great, possible Conference Championship Game

    # 15 – Oklahoma State (5-0) – still to play A & M, @ Missouri, Oklahoma, @ Texas, @ Texas Tech

    # 16 – West Virginia (4-1) – looking good, still to face Syracuse

    # 17 – Louisville (4-0) – still to play @ Miami, @ Memphis, TCU, @ Houston

    # 18 – Boise State (5-0) – still to face Fresno State, Hawaii, La Tech

    # 19 – Arizona State (5-0) – still to play @ USC, UCLA, @ Cal, Stanford

    # 20 – Minnesota (5-1) – still to play @ Michigan State, @ Wisconsin, Iowa

    # 21 – LSU Tigers - Super Great and Getting Better
