I just wish we had had Saban when Spurrier was in his heyday at Florida. Nick would have figured his a$$ out real quick.

I want Saban to stay, but I think he would make a great NFL
coach, his experience in the past in the NFL would certainly help
    him.

As far as Steve Spurrier goes, he didn't have a clue about pro
football and he was apparently in over his head.

Some coaches were meant for high school, others for college, others for pro's.

Kinda like another one, Rick Petino.........

Pitino is a great college coach but he sucked in the NBA. I can't think of many college football coaches who have made the leap to the NFL with much success. In fact only Jimmy Johnson comes to mind. Sure Barry Switzer won a Superbowl but he did it with the team that Johnson put together.

Saban is one of the very few who could do it. I hope he dosen't.

He is part of the Bill Parcells/Vince Lombardi Family Tree. He will succeed.

Spurrier is but a pimple on Saban's behind. He should be relegated to cleaning up Mike the tiger's turds. He is DAMN lucky to have had the talent & other coaching staff he had in Gainesville. Once a pussy always a pussy.

Don't forget that Spurrier won at Duke of all places. He can coach in college ball anywhere.

His NFL coaching career was a lot like his NFL playing career. Came in with great credentials, but it didn't work out. I think given a good GM and a hands-off owner he could do well in the NFL. Washington is impossible with their owner. Steve went for the big money and a chance at the Superbowl. I think he could do well in a place like Green Bay, Kansas City, maybe Chicago now.

There is a HUGE difference between NFL and college. College coaches are in total control of their program ... NFL coaches are usually just responsible for coaching and that's it. They may have input on player personnel, but not the final say.

Saban is a control freak ... he will not be successful in the NFL UNLESS he is in an organization that will allow him to call most of the shots.

Spurrier had an owner that stuck is nose in everything...
