I just wanted to mention a couple of things that I had not seen mentioned anywhere else on the board. If they have, I apologize. First, I don't know how many people watched the Cox Sports replay yesterday, but the thing that stuck with me the most was the comment by one of the announcers that EVERY LSU senior was on schedule to graduate within 12 months. That alone says a lot about what Coach Saban means to this program. Also I was wondering if anyone else saw the end of the Louisville/UK game last night. For those who didn't, Louisville drove to the Kentucky 5 with almost no time left and had 1st and goal. They had a 9 point lead and could have let the clock run out without running another play. Instead they called timeout with 13 seconds left in order to run another play. They ran the ball and scored another touchdown. Needless to say, the UK coach didn't look very pleased.

    Very good to hear!

One thing that I always love to hear about a program is how many student-athletes are actually graduating. My impression of Saban has always been one of integrity. We know from experience that he doesn't put up with much shananigans when it somes to student-athletes behavior. I am very pleased to hear that. I would life to see that specific ratio increase at LSU. I love LSU Football but it is an educational institution first and foremost.

Kenucky and Louisville...apparently they don't like each other much. Interstate rivalry and all. It will be a VERY LOOOOONG time before LSU has another state rival that can compete.

    Cheers from New Zealand

What Nick Saban and his team are proving is that it CAN be done right. Young men can attend a college on a football scholarship and be something other than a palooka. You can be a football player AND be a student. Sure, a lot of the guys on the team are majoring in "general studies" or "criminal justice" or "kinesiology." And, sure, they have available to them all kinds of advantages that the normal student doesn't have. Plus they have lots of people checking on them to make sure they go to class, do their assignments, etc. But in the end, you still have to do what is necessary to graduate. There are other colleges that offer these amenities to their athletes and still have abyssmal graduation rates. I haven't noticed that being a responsible student takes away from one's ability as an athlete.

And really there is no "easy" major. Kineseology has a lot of anotomy and biology. Some people try to call ISDS "dumbed down Computer Science", true I don't program like they do but they teach me how to be the Computer Scientist's boss :D

I assume you listen to the internet broadcast of the game, so a 7pm game is about 9 or 10am Sunday morning for you correct?

Correct...the game was on at 10 am Sunday morning here, and I heard it on the internet broadcast. Thankfully I have a broadband connection which made it great. Amazing to my wife and I that this was possible. Technology is FANTASTIC, now all we need is video:) and for LSU to run the table which I think is very possible. One game at a time baby!

Any way you can get a satellite dish down there that can pick up American TV? Saturday's game is on TNT or TBS. I know an Australian guy who gets a lot of American TV. I don't know if he has a dish or he gets it through cable.

Louisville's coach was at Auburn last year. Apparently Tubby taught him well.
