Another site had a post that cited WWL as the source w/ Skip quoted as saying the contract was "fireproof".

Anything to this or is this a case of someone hearing what they wanted to here when Skip was on with Kaare last night?

I don't think it's money now. It's about does he want to coach in the NFL and live in Chicago.

As far as football coaching the NFL is the pinnacle. I know Skip said something that if Nick stayed at LSU he would BE the football program, but that's a lot of work. With the Bears as he Nick said about the NFL it's about football.

I figure he can get something worked out with Angelo about personnel decisions in his contract.

The money is more and he can give it a shot for 4-5 and years and if it doesn't work out he retires a wealthy man in his late 50s or he can go back to college.

As far as quality of life, there's less fishbowl living in Chicago than in Baton Rouge. If you're the coach of the bears you can go shopping in Lake Forest, the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Ave and Marshall Fields on State Street and a lot of people won't know who you are or just leave you alone, since in Chicago there are a lot of celebrities around and you're just one of them and people do have a tendancy to respect your personal space in the big urban areas.

    See the thread:

Article from Today's Chicago Tribune on page two.

It has Skips comments, but the $3 million figure comes from the writer.

ESPN.com, buried in the article about Saban interviewing with the Falcons and Bears, refers to a TEN YEAR deal worth $3 mil per.

    Pay It

What ever it takes to make Nick smile and STAY in BR for as long as possible.

HOW MUCH HAS THE PR THIS YEAR BEEN WORTH TO LSU??? If LSU had to pay for all the air time we have gotten it would be far more than 3 million!!!

Grandmothers and folks that don't know you many "goals" Matt Mauck has scored this year are following the Tigers. For the first time the athletic department is trying to build on the current success and truely step up to the next level.

If he stays for a while he can buil a DYNASTY that when it is time for him to go there isll be a LONG list of qualified coaches waiting in line to apply for the job.

    Make Nick (& Terry) happy!!!
