I know this is way off subject BUT maybe not if you think about Recruiting. The local 5A High School team the South Panola TIGERS ( yeah aint it sweet! Tigers ) are going to Jackson, MS this Friday to play in the State 5A High School Championship game agaisnt OAK GROVE out of Hattiesburg, MS., a team I played agaisnt in HS ball. They were only 2A back then though, guess they've grown. The South Panola Tigers are Undefeated at 14-0 They have allot of similarities to LSU, a top rated defense and an offense that can put up some points. At one time this season they were averaging 55 points a game ( no kidding ) Scores like 75-9 and 61 -17 for example. Now this isn't a little 2A school it's a 5A school and many colleges recruit these larger High Schools. They were also ranked 13th out of ALL highschools in the nation. There are a few former Tigers playing in the NFL. one is Dwayne Rudd, for the Bucs. We lost last years State championship to Warren Central to come out second in the state. Now on this Tiger team there are a Bevy of runners and a few of the players have made the state's Dandy Dozen, a top 12 football players kind of like the SEC player of the week thing that comes out every week. NOW I wonder if LSU is scouting that Championship game in Jackson? As a side note here lately when the South Panola Tigers win BIG by a large margin LSU dominates the next day. This last Friday it happened in reverse, LSU dominated the hawgs BEFORE the South Panola Tigers dismantled Starkville for the North State championship. And the game agaisnt West Point was close too, right before the Ole MISS game, but only because West Point wet the field down. I don't supoose UGA could get away with a low life trick like that! ha!
