some people on here never fail to amaze me...

The guy came over here and basically pointed out that the same thing happened last year to LSU that happened to auburn. He's a great poster here and a CONTRIBUTOR... and you guys are sticking your tongue out at him and say neener neener neener. LAME

He even admitted that LSU is playing better than auburn right now :umm: what am I missing?

Both LSU and the refs were to blame for us losing to Auburn. But even with LSU's less than stellar performance (and play calling), we would have won that game with fair officiating.

As far as LSU going to the Rose Bowl and whether that is fair... What matters is where the polls show you - as long as you are in the top 14, you are eligible. From there, it is just a matter of who the bowl wants to take based on the best game, most attention, and ticket sales. If there is a problem with the fact that LSU is ranked so highly - all I can say is that voters feel we are the best team. Maybe it is justified, maybe it isn't. Last year, Auburn got entirely too much credit for losing to us due to the 5 missed FGs - when we missed 2 FGs & 2 touchdown passes as well. It's just the way things go.

You are absolutely right. Refs should not be held accountable when they get a second chance to make it right in slow motion. I can't argue that officials are the only thing that cost us that game. But I can argue that they squandered opportunities for us in important situations during the game. It happens.

Maybe people are confused because it's normally the Bama faithfull that live in the past.

The whole point of how the BCS works...you would think people would adapt to it, and quit crying about whos better, cause of who they beat early in the season...acknowledge the fact that the BCS pits the best teams, at the end of the year. The Fact that he came here and said that he thought Auburn was better, for the simple fact they beat us. People need to open there eyes, and deal with the BCS.

I totally agree that bad calls dont help you to win a game. LSU certainly havent had calls go their way this year. I just look at it as had Russell thrown a good pass we would have won, no problems. The pass was horrible. Believe me I was up screaming like everyone else when the call was overturned to a no call.

As for the replay officials for the Ou/Oregan game. They should be fired. Thats pathetic to have missed that call. I just think you have oppertunties to win or lose games, there will always be bad calls. Calls certainly do help or hurt your chances, still in all IMO the game is won and loss on the field with players and coaches.

I'd wager that for every one of you fact facers, I can find 10 excuse makers out there regarding that game. Get over yourself and find something else to do rather than telling me what to quit doing...

Lighten up Noob. There was one call that cost us a score and 3 others that stopped drives deep in Auburn territory. And, that doesn't include an obvious OB hit right in front of an official that wasn't called. Sure, had we played a perfect game we would have won anyway, but the fact is that the refs share responsibility for that loss. I normally do not blame officiating in losses. But this one was on the zebras.

It's all about who's playing better at the time and how good the team we lost to were at the time. They were both in the top ten. Auburn lost to Arkansas and Georgia. Arkansas only got reall good after the Auburn game and Georgia has struggled this year. Not only that, Auburn lost all of both of those games at home and add in the fact that y'all didn't finish the season with any big name game besides the Iron Bowl. I guess what I'm saying, that LSU would beat Auburn if the game were today. We're playing hot.
