Ole Miss Head Coach Mike Bianco: On the upcoming match up against Arkansas “They are very good, and we played very well. When you get to this point and you play in the number one baseball conference in the country anybody is good, and anybody can beat anybody on any given day. It’s the truth; and it’s all about playing well.”

At the same time, you don’t want to leave anything to chance. I know a lot can happen this week with tournament play. I felt like a win today would certainly solidify us getting in. Good play in this tournament could potentially move you from a three-seed to a two-seed. We feel pretty comfortable about getting into a regional.”
Under Mainieri, LSU has won three of the past five SEC Tournament crowns, claiming the title in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Under Mainieri, LSU is 14-3 (.824) in their past 17 SEC Tournament games. LSU has a league-best 64-37 (.643) all-time record in the SEC Tournament, and the Tigers own a conference-high nine tournament titles. Alabama and Mississippi State are second behind LSU with seven tournament titles, and Ole Miss is third with five championships.
Mainieri: "The SEC Tournament is the best conference tournament in college baseball, and it's often more difficult to win this tournament than it is to win an NCAA Regional, " Mainieri said. "We're facing an outstanding opponent in every round of this tournament, beginning with Alabama in our first game. They compete at a very high level, and we always enjoy the challenge of facing them. We had a very tough series against them a few weeks ago in Tuscaloosa, and we're expecting another great game here in Hoover."
Against Alabama on April 21, Glenn notched 8 innings and limited the Crimson Tide to 4 hits and one earned run. "That was something (Mainieri) mentioned to me, and I agree," said Glenn, who was the Game 1 pitcher each of the last three weeks of the regular season (all on Thursday) "I'll be throwing with a lot of confidence." Regardless who wins: a likely LSU matchup with Arkansas and Ryne Stanek or Ole Miss and Bobby Wahl looms on Thursday. "Nola is the best matchup for us and gives us the best chance to win in that case," Mainieri said.
Cody Glenn: “I’m really excited,” Glenn said. “I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I know the opening game is really important to getting off to a good start and I accept that. But I won’t let it faze me.”
The LSU baseball team bused to Hoover, Ala., on Monday JaCoby Jones is merely along for the ride. Jones is inactive for the tournament, recovering from a wrist injury. “I’m just going to support the team,” Jones said, “be a good teammate.” In his place, Mainieri put relief pitcher Hunter Newman (2-0, 2.18 earned run average in 11 appearances) on the Tigers’ 27-man roster. “I wanted to add another pitcher so we don’t have to run anyone into the ground prior to the NCAA tournament,” Mainieri said.
We've all heard of, and most of us have seen, "soccer moms." Now, I leave you with this picture from yesterday and ask, "what exactly do you call this?" Ole Miss using Mom's to retrieve the bats...not sure what to say about that. Good pic of a kid being brought up correctly. All he needs is an official score book. Gallery from Day One.
