There is definitely a chance and Dontae is wanting that offer so I am sure he will bring his A game.

Not really sure if the staff wants to hold off because they see him as a threat to commit before we are ready or if the staff is willing to accept a commit from him on the spot. I do think Storm will be a commit by then so we will likely only have one more spot available to go to either Lache, Dontae, Parker, etc...

    Tough call

I think they really need to look at this kid Neal out of GA. His stats doesnt jump out at you from last year because he missed 4 games but managed to still get 800 plus yards. This kid has excellent hands and can get the tough yards inside the tackles, but has the speed to get to the outside to take it to the house. He is 5"11 and going to play about 210 and has 4.38 to 4.41 speed. Rumor has it he may end up the #1 back in Ga and is going to push Lattimore for the top back in the southeast. This kid is flying way under the radar.

I was going to ask about Storm Johnson because I see his name's not on the "coming to July camp" thread and there hasn't been any info on him posted lately.

ps I like the input of the new "recruiting pimp guy."

He is planning on visiting campus July 4th weekend.

Good chance he makes the call.

Are you concerned with the lack of perceived talent in this class so far. According to the rating system? Or will alot of these 3 star guys get a 4th star in the future?

Not concerned at all. We are filling our needs with the best LA guys we have and picking up big prospects from around the country.

More than half of our commits are currently 4* prospects and I would say a little less than half of those 3* could be bumped to a 4*.

One of our 3* is considered the top FB prospect or close to it in the nation. Looks like Gibson will get a 4th star and so could Fordham if he is reevaluated as a OL. I think Bates is underrated with what he brings to the table. Jacobs is the best TE in the state and will be a blocking TE so I don't expect him to increase his star rating. I think Muncie and Welter are underrated slightly as well but 3* seems reasonable given their early commitments and both are flying under the radar.

Storm Johnson will get bumped to a 4* on Scout with his offer sheet and his senior year performance.

Nah, the quality of this class will be determined by how we finish from here-on-out. The recruiting class is solid to this point.

Plus, the sites are just getting started with their evaluations from this year, so I wouldn't worry about that. There are quite a few guys we could have already taken that are 4*, but they are overrated right now by the services. The ratings will change 3-4 times before signing day.

    2010 Recruiting class:

    Storm Johnson 4*
    Eric Reid 4*
    Mike Davis 4*
    Justin Hunter 4*
    Zach Lee 4*
    Justin Maclin 4*
    Tharold Simon 4*
    Ronnie Vinson 4*
    Jermarcus Hardrick 4*

    Trovon Reed 4*
    Jordan Allen 4*
    Evan Washington 4*
    John Fulton/Tony Hurd 4*
    Shaun Lewis 4*
    Byran Jones 4*
    Elliot Porter 3*
    James Wright 3*

    Cameron Fordham 3*
    Brandon Worle 3*
    Nick Jacobs 3*
    Luke Muncie 3*
    D.J Welter 3*
    Houston Bates 3*
    Sam Gibson 3*

    --------------------------
    Total: 24
    --------------------------
    4* - 15
    3* - 9
    Average: 3.625

I counted Hardrick in at a 4* and Fordham as a 3* That should just about lock up another top-10 class.. which is fantastic in a thin year.

Not to mention that Worle, Gibson, and Wright all have a great shot at getting their 4th stars. We'll miss on two or three of those guys.. but for the most part I fully expect this to be our class.

yeah, the class is shaping up good talent-wise and character-wise. its important to realize that character and chemistry are difficult to rate. no question we want a top 10 rated class, as this predicts success, but too many 4-5*'s with problems will nullify those ratings. so far, i like what i see, personally.

So far we have a top-10 class in the bag. We might push for the #5 or higher depending on us landing or missing certain people.
