If Brooks has another up and down year, I wouldn't mind seeing the Saints cutting bait w/ him and going after Ro. Davey is much more of a leader than Brooks. AB is very talented but his "who gives a sh!t" attitude and grinning through his own fumbles, ints and losses gets old. Still, I've always been an AB fan, but, at some point you have to cut bait. I think Davey would be great w/ the Saints! I think he's smarter than some people give him credit for, and he's a great leader.:thumb:
I think he'll be a very intriguing option for many teams in 2006, but I do see so, so many people make the Davey-Saints association working under some strange, mysterious LSU-Saints linkage. Yes, the guy played ball in Baton Rouge, but otherwise he has no ties to Louisiana. That being said, I do indeed think this is AB's swan song unless the Saints get to the playoffs, plus there's enough talent on that team to lead me to believe they won't turn the keys over to some rookie but rather an experience QB with upside...like Ro. We may want Ro, but whether he'd want us is open to discussion. He sure won't get the most money he can get by going to New Orleans as the Saints will have big bucks tied up in Deuce, Horn and possibly others in coming seasons.
Saints don't give a crap. JT O'Sullivan was the best backup they had and they traded him.... Granted they got McKenzie who really helped the defense... but still.
o'sullivan is horrible but a nice feelgood underdog whiteboy story we wannabe white athletes can live through vicariously. but i digress. I heard Rohan interviewed today and he spoke like he didn't want to go anywhere. Belichick is one of, if not the greatest coaches ever and Tom Brady is possibly the best QB of all time and how hard each work, etc etc. I kinda wanted to hear him say he wanted to go somewhere and start. Yet, it didnt sound like it was even an option he's considered. Sounds like he loves N.E. but Im sure any amount of money can change this with a starting position. Rohan needs Sexton for an agent.
saban said he wasnt going anywhere either.. but when the money calls, people answer.. he will be wearing different colors in 2006
did he just compare saban's character to rohan's? CMON! lmao Thats a disservice to Rohan!!!! yeah I was thinking about that during the interview. If I was him sitting there with 2 superbowl rings yet not have played one down....what would it really mean? Im sure it means the world to him yet a somewhat hollow world. then again, that hollow world is light-years better than going to the saints or the browns. id hang around til brady dies of old age or gets hit by a truck. theyre about the same age anyhow so it will have to be the truck.
Rohan: He has played in games before you know... Just as a cleanup QB, but still... Its not like he hasn't thrown one pass at new england or anything. # 6 Rohan Davey Position: QB Height: 6-2 Weight: 245 Born: 04/14/1978 College: Louisiana State NFL Experience: 4 HES FREAKING HUGE!!!
