The the schedule is finally out. Not much change on it. We open at home at Southern. Our only real road non conference game besides those LA schools is Houston. Our non conference schedule looks better. There is no real big name school but we play Souther Miss, Utah, and Tulane at home. We scheduled more middle of the road teams and less cupcakes. The highlight on the schedule is 2/29/03. We play Kentucky at 3:00 P.M. in the PMAC on CBS. http://www.lsusports.net/schedule.c...le=LSU+Men's+Basketball+Schedule&sporttype=MB
I actually think this is a big improvement. Southern Miss and Tulane are quality teams, UNO is a respectable mid-major, and Utah went to a Final Four a few years back, although I don't think they qualify as a national power right now. Whereas, last year, it was UNO, Tulane, Arizona, and then nothing but solid garbage until SEC play. The schedule is a bit more balanced this time. I can live with this, and we should definitely be better prepared for conference play.
what i would like to see would be one powerhouse team we trade home and home games with every year (i.e. arizona, indiana, etc.), 2 or 3 cupcakes (southern, ut-corpus-christi, etc.), and 7 middle of the pack teams... this year is better than last though
