I don't even want to send my daughters to school now. Starting to feel like they need an armed escort.... So many shootings lately with hardly any people out there to defend it. It is one thing to own a gun, its another to pull it and use it..
Come on man. Something has to be done as a result of this tradegy. The places where we send our kids to learn are not safe.
Mancha isn't that far off, if any type of gun control is completely off the table and we can't even have an honest debate, then what's left? May as well just arm everyone.
Yea I don't even know what you do at this point. To many guns out there. Only logical step in my mind are federal mandates on public school protection... Money well spent IMO. Peace of mind is hard to obtain... Clearly, it is time to stop the debate and do something, anything. I respect the shit out of these words: [Updated at 3:16 p.m. ET] From the president: "I offer Gov. Malloy my condolences on behalf of the nation." The president appears to be emotional, he's wiping his eye. Here's more of what he's saying: "We've endured too many of these tragedies in the past few years. Each time I learn the news I react not as a president but as anybody else would as a parent. "That was especially true today. "I know there's not a parent in America that doesn't feel the same overwhelming grief that I do. "The majority of those who died today were children, beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10. "They had their entire lives ahead of them, birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own." Obama sighed. "Our hearts are broken today for the parents and grandparents, sisters and brothers of these children and the families of the adults we lost. "As a country, we have been through this too many times. "This evening Michelle and I will do what every parent in America will do - hug our children a little tighter and tell them that we love them. "There are families in Connecticut that cannot do that tonight and they need all of us tonight. "May god bless the memory of the victims and in the words of scripture heal the broken hearted and bind up their wounds."
One thing is to stop overpublicizing these events. The reason people go on shooting rampages is to get their 15 minutes of fame. We must stop giving out the perp's name. Let him be an anonymous scumbag. No fame. No notoriety.
The only thing that would lessen would be is discussion, such as this. When incidents such as this happen the suspect(s) never seem to survive long enough to see their name(s) in lights.
