Most of what you said may be absolutely true (exect for the #1 raking being the worst thing that could have happened to the Tigers), but I will always be happy to see LSU at the top of the polls. It is something I will never complain about.

    #1 Worst, huh?

Sorry, I had to be THAT guy. :geauxtige

I do love our position now. Got that L but I do think we control our destiny still.

I'm not buying into all that, Les and Co. just got outcoached in Lexington. Although our offense scored enough to win, I just can't help but think the play calling could be more imaginative.

yeah i've been thinking about that and totally agree. it's just not in the cards for lsu to get that much recognition and cred. we're better as the underdog.

Funny, everyone cries and complains when "someone doesnt pick LSU" or "some other team doesnt deserve to be ahead of LSU in the polls" or "how could spittin lou said this about LSU" or "herbie said that about LSU", etc...then they turn around and say "# 1 is the worst thing that could have happened" or "it's just not in the cards for lsu to get that much recognition and cred." or "we're better as the underdog" or "we put a huge target on our backs" or "the pressure of being number 1 may have gotten to this team a little", etc.

Cant have it both way peps

BTW...I'll take the #1 ranking whenever anyone wants to give it to us b/c that is where this Tiger team belongs.

For you info I said none of those things you are referring to. As I have stated now for the third time this was posted strictly from a competition point of view.

I will try this one more time. We play in the toughest league in the country and being number 1 made it impossible for us to go undefeated in our conference. That is all I was trying to say.

Do I think we deserve to be number one at the time YES
DO I think this helped with recruiting YES
Do I think the players enjoyed the spotlight YES
DO I think the fans enjoyed the spotlight YES

Do I think we would still be undefeated if not ranked number 1 YES

Well, I guess we will agree to disagree on that because I don't think LSU being #2 or even #5 for that matter makes Kentucky give us any less than they gave us last Saturday. It sounds more like an excuse to me. Ask Michigan, Auburn, Louisville, West Virginia, etc if they thought they got any less competition by not being ranked #1

And thinking the outcome would have been any different had we been #1 or #2 is silly.

In addition, one could say that that the announcement of the USC loss right after halftime of the UF game...giving us that #1 slot, pushed our Tigers to win that game and stay unbeaten in the first place. So would we still be unbeaten if not ranked #1?? probably not unless we were unbeaten right now.

We can agree to disagree. I have played organized sports till I was thirty two including college football. We played the number 1 ranked division 2 school and I can tell you it was different than when we played the number 2 ranked school. You just look at a school when they are number 1 totally different than 2. 3, or 4.

We played with much more intensity than at any other game in the season simply because we had the opportunity to beat the NUMBER 1 ranked school.

This is what I am referring too. Not our level of play but our competitions level of play is higher when ranked number 1.

why is this an issue? you can't change the fact that we lost, but instead make up stupid excuses why we lost....the other team didn't play harder, we played like a bunch of true freshman out there. Stop whining, cheer harder:helmet:
