Per DandyDon, the Sporting News has rated LSU's offensive line as the best in the nation. I've looked over their web site but can't seem to find a link. Anyway, it's the first time I've heard our line get this much respect and it's always nice to hear. LSU O-LINE CALLED BEST IN NATION BY THE SPORTING NEWS LSU's offensive line, a unit that returns four starters from a year ago, is ranked as the nation's No. 1 unit in The Sporting News' College Football Preview issue, which is currently on the news stands. Returning starters on the LSU offensive line include preseason All-America Andrew Whitworth at left tackle, 2004 First-Team Academic All-America Rudy Niswanger at center, senior Nate Livings at right guard and junior Brian Johnson at right tackle. Redshirt freshman Brett Helms emerged from spring practice at the starter at left guard for the Tigers. In all, the Tigers have six offensive linemen who have at leas four starts to their credit with Whitworth leading the way with 39 starts. Other players with starting experience on the offensive line for the Tigers include sophomore guard Will Arnold and senior guard Terrell McGill.
....and we all remember what the team did the last time our O-line was highly touted. :crystal: Here's a hint, it was the start of the 2003 season. :thumb:
This team's persona will definately take some getting used to (as opposed to seeing our defense carry us.) Get used to seeing a TRUE high-powered offense (sorry saints, lol.) And if Pelini's D is as great as the talent we have, man I just cannot see how we can lose a game. Of course it's almost inevitable for us to lose a tough game... but we just have way too much talent...
