Are the coaches trying to convince themselves that Russell Shepard

would be worse than Lee at QB?

You really have to question the decision making of this coaching staff. All this BS about Lee is stronger, better decision maker, etc. What a crock!

How in the world are we a top 5 program and cannot recruit someone better than we have in Lee or Jefferson?

Why are you piling on JJ?

    Jordan Jefferson is good.

He will be a stud before it's all said and done.....stay tuned.

I've been asking the same question tonight (um, all season). I mean, Lee is horrible. All of this "give him another chance" stuff - now you see why he doesn't start. JJ may not be perfect, but he is certainly better than Lee, but how we don't have a better QB than either is beyond me. RPs shenanigans are still hurting us, I guess. Between RP f'ing us and Crowton's ineptness, so much talent is being wasted on offense over the last two years.

JJ will be an All-SEC QB when he's a senior.

I hope you are right but it will be painful getting there.

it reminds me of last year when he said all year JJ wasn't ready!

You guys have some misplaced illusion of "An SEC Quarterback". JJ is just as good as any of them right now. Repeat after me: "Our Offensive line is the problem in 2009".

It hasn't improved a hell of a lot in 2009.

and 2009 too. (even if that's what you meant)

two things to the original poster:

    1) i like JJ and think he is an SEC QB and will continue to progress.
    2) russell shepard is no where near ready to run this offense. he is struggling just learn his routes/reads/heck even where to line up on some plays. and that's as a runner/receiver.
this is not a knock on him, he is a true freshman and i think you underestimate all that goes into learning an offensive system especially when you're the one running it(QB).

i also think many fans are giving him credit for a better arm than he actually has but that's just my opinion.

one last thing, i don't wish anything bad upon anyone but it is very clear to me that a certain QB on our roster might be more comfortable playing for peveto or another div 1aa school. i think it would be best for both parties involved.
