I think you are missing something. The Auburn defense in 2008 was hardly inept. As the season progressed and the D had too many reps on the field, yes, they began to falter. A D with NFL second and third round picks playing wasn't a joke. I am just sad the two didn't return for their senior year.

To be fair, they should have had one and a safety. Cox was extremely lucky that when he blindly threw the ball up in the air it somehow landed in the vicinity of a UGA receiver and didn't get called for grounding in the end zone.
