Actually, the Lee from TX is on the roster now...and threw a shetload of TDs to the opposition last season. :wave:

I was just funnin' and pointing out that there'll be another Lee on the roster from Texas soon. This one'll be on the diamond first though.:grin:.

No kidding around, I do think Jarrett Lee will be much improved this year as a backup to Jordan Jefferson. I think JL is a fierce competitor and team player.

I'm an optimist when it comes to LSU (P&G glasses and a couple of sips of Kool aid) and I really look for the Defense to really rebound next year after packing it in last year.

I know what yall are trying to say, but comparisons based on last year's stats are apples and oranges. Lee put up a lot of yards, but only because LSU was trying to climb out of big point holes dug by both himself and the defense (Florida, Troy). Jefferson just doesn't have the games under his belt to take away anything meaningful from his stats. Neither one addresses one of the biggest problems on offense: the huge number of WR drops.

Point is it's ridiculous and premature to write off Lee at this point while anointing Jefferson the savior.

Ball security is paramount. You lose football games by throwing INTs. You don't overlook INTs. That is ridiculous. Year in and year out, both in NCAA and NFL, you can look at the teams who have the best turnover ratios and they are going to be the ones that rise to the top.

This is completely retarded. You bet your ass Les gave Jarett an earful every time he threw a pick. Of course he's going to publically support his players, that is what you do as a coach, but you know he knows that being insecure with the football loses football games. The players aren't infallible because they wear a Tiger jersey. In fact, the fact that they wear a Tiger jersey means they have to live up to a higher standard.

They say leadership is an intangible...but I say nay nay. It was easy to see the composure of JJ, and easy to see him throw the ball out of bounds when nothing was there. Lee had an extra year in the system...and about 10 games that he played in last year...and he still didn't exhibit those things. And don't forget that JJ can do more than just pass.

Charles Scott, whom many consider to be one of the leaders on the team this year, is quoted as saying JJ has control of the huddle and the offense now. So it is written, so shall it be. Book it.

FWIW, I was one of the last to admit Lee didn't have it. I defended the indefensible last season until it was just too much. I like the kid...I admire that he came out and tried and I believe he gave it his all. HOWEVER, I will NOT sit here and defend him against someone who is so obviously far ahead of him at this time it ain't funny. I used some of the same arguments your using Red, but I let it go. Let it go, Red...let it go.
