Halftime, USA still up 2-0, but we are starting to play too conservative (or tired?). We need to stay angry. Basically, our goal needs to be score 5 goals if we except to pull this thing off. Right now, the momentum has swung Brazil's way, they have been crushing us on offense late in the half there. Granted, the US is a great defensive team/not great offensive team... but we have to stay angry. We're not like Spain against South Africa who could just sit back and play defense after they went up by one in the Bronze Medal match earlier today. If that's what we do, Brazil will end up picking us apart and winning. I hope this isn't just because we are tired. This is the USA, we condition our athletes as good as Brazil or anybody else out there.
John, there is a US-Brazil thread. I agree. I think we need to pull Feilhaber off and put in Torres. He can do some holding of the ball in the midfield. Use he and Donovan for counterattcking the all pressing brazillian D in the 2nd half. The man-markers in the back need to follow tight Let the space markers in the midfield do the ball chasing.
The Defensive shell that the US is falling into is a habit or most American soccer. For some reason the US does not always trust in the way they have been playing and they start conceding space and falling into a deep shell.
