Has anyone heard about this? A co-worker told me it was discussed on WWL radio yesterday. The reason was that Dorsey is not a 3-4 DT so he no longer fits in their scheme. Supposedly ESPN also reported it, but I did not see anything this morning.

How often does a top-5 guy get traded after one year?

If true, could possibly be the best thing for his NFL career right now. For a team that can play his abilities -vs- his weaknesses, he would be a score. I wonder what said team would be willing to give up for trade?

After only one year at KC, one could hardly consider him a bust.

KC seems to be one of the teams in the top 5 interested in Tyson Jackson too who is thought to be good in either the 3-4 or the 4-3.

why is he not a 3-4 DT? he doesnt play on the outside so i wouldnt think it would matter. youd think stuffing the middle would be his forte.

I'm picturing.......a Saints defensive line featuring Glenn Dorsey and Sedrick Ellis side-by-side. It's a good looking picture.

3-4 DT's are usually huge 330 pound guys who can take on multiple blockers and clog up the inside. Dorsey is right around 300 and is more of a penetrating DT. It's a very different skill set.

So if you were M. Loomis, what would you give up for Dorsey? Obviously the 14-pick would have to be involved, but that leaves you as a spectator on Saturday, unless you can coerce KC into including their number 3 in the deal (they don't have a 2nd rounder0. What else would you give up? I'd be inclined to let Charles Grant go.
    So....
Chiefs get, 14th pick in 1st round, DE Charles Grant,
Saints get, DT Glenn Dorsey, 3rd pick in 3rd round.

    Anyone think that's enough? I don't.

Hell no. That is way to much to give.

You don't give up a first rounder for a one year player with average stats.

I'm thinking taking his contract off their hands plus a 3rd or maybe a vet with a year or two left in the tank.
