1. Per rivals Christine Michaels chose the Aggies. I guess he got tired of waiting on us for an offer. I'm glad he is going to a program that doesn't normally affect us much because he is a very good back.
  2. Re: Michaels commits to Texas A&M

I wish him success at A&M.

He's good, but his offers don't support a 5 star ranking...
  3. Re: Michaels commits to Texas A&M

It's their first Rivals 5-star recruit since the 2005 class.
  4. Re: Michaels commits to Texas A&M

    agreed.

And I trust the 119 D-I coaches more than I trust 2-3 geeks with stopwatches who run these web sites.

But I hope he makes A&M competitive. Then maybe they'll balls-up and hop back into a series with us. :)
  5. Re: Michaels commits to Texas A&M

A&M was his best committable offer...

His 5 star ranking is based on a camp performance in Florida. I expect Michael to drop down to a 4 star before NSD.
  6. Re: Michaels commits to Texas A&M

I thought he was a 5 star prior to the camp performance? If not, he was rated as a top 5 back, as I recall.
  7. Re: Michaels commits to Texas A&M

As I recall, he started out around 130 or so in the Rivals 250, and moved up to around the 80's before that camp. After the camp, he may have had one more big jump before being a 5 star.
  8. Re: Michaels commits to Texas A&M

He recently gave this quote about LSU and aTm:

Dec 28 -- "As one of the top athletes in Texas, people all over are telling me what school to do to, but that's all their perspective," Michael said. "I prayed and asked God to show me the way. I visited LSU and I didn't fit. It's a hyped-up school and I'm more laid back. A&M has a laid-back atmosphere."

    Translation:

He didn't fit in at LSU because he wasn't offered.
