    Hey fellow LSU fans,

Just wanted to let y'all know about a great event that's coming up. On September 20th, the American Diabetes Association is hosting a Tailgate for Diabetes at Gerry Lane Hummer in Baton Rouge. Attendees will watch the LSU v. Auburn game on a 20 by 20 ft. screen while dining on food from some of Baton Rouge's best restaurants and participating in a silent auction that includes autographed sports memorabilia. Every event ticket gives you a chance to win a Hummer! This event is sure to be a lot of fun and a great way for LSU fans to get together, enjoy the game, and support the local community. All proceeds from the event go towards the American Diabetes Association's mission of finding a cure for diabetes and improving the quality of life of those affected by the disease. Since Louisiana has the highest diabetes-related death rate in the country, this is definitely something that affects us all. For more information or to get tickets, check out www.batonrougetailgate.com. I hope to see some of y'all there! Geaux tigers!

I'm a Type II diabetic. Will there be diabetic-friendly food at this tailgate?

There will be a wide variety of restaurants at the event in order to suit all of the guests' tastes and dietary needs. Guests with diabetes should have no problem selecting healthy (and tasty!) options. If you are interested, you can also check out this link for some extra information on choosing healthy food options: http://www.diabetes.org./nutrition-and-recipes/nutrition/faqs.jsp .

    Geaux tigers!
