Why wouldn't first team offense be white and first team defense be purple? And second team defense be white and second team offense be purple? Am I crazy or does this just make too much sense to make the game fair?

Who knows... Maybe its a motivation thing. If the second team hangs with the first team it might spur them on and work harder to take the starting position from those above them in the depth chart. Like wise, if some first team guy gets burned by a second stringer, maybe he will work harder to keep his spot.

Either way, wish I could be there to get even the slightest whiff of football.

I think the rationale is that they know what most of the starters are capable of. They are allowing some of the guys that are battling for playing time/spots on the depth chart (R. Brooks, J. Williams, J. Jones, T. Tolliver, Jared and Chris Mitchell, etc.) to against what is essentially the first team in order to see who separates himself from the group.

Miles said. “We put some key ones in with the twos, guys that will help give the second team a chance to score and defend. We also did that to see certain guys in specific match ups."

Perhaps Miles feels like we are deep enough that it just doesn't matter who is one or two.

If he felt that way why would he say that he will have to spot the second team some points?

Something tells me that he was just trying to motivate them.

He hasn't made one logical decision since he came here and we have a national championship and three 11 win seasons. I had to quit using common sense to figure out what the hell he is thinking due to his results.
