All presidents move to the center when they are in office, except Bush II. I think he actually believed his own BS. Well, he didn't have to move because the repubs owned both houses of congress also and he got everything he wanted. Makes you appreciate gridlock, doesn't it...

I was for McCain in 2000, I think we could do better but I'm not afraid of a McCain presidency (hope I'm not proven wrong).

Oh brother. They said the same thing about Goldwater and Reagan. You would think that old fear-mongering statement would be getting stale by now.

McCain is bad news? Not hardly. I will be the first to admit that I don't like some of the positions he has taken either, but I like those of Obama and Clinton even less. In fact, a good deal less. I would much rather see someone in office with whom I disagree with 25% of the time than someone I disagree with 50% or 75% of the time. Just common sense.

I guess that would depend on which issues you hold truest to your own values.

Anyone who thinks McCain will be a war monger has never served in the Armed Forces. Mr. McCain spent 5 years in captivity during the Vietnam War. He, more than anyone, will not go to war for the sake of going to war.
