    I think 11 is the ranking of this class by rivals. Sorry guys but after 2 NCs in 4 yrs. I would think that LSU would out recruit Mich. Miami and FREAKING NOTRE DAME!:crystal:

    Dude, are you serious? 11 is the worst ranking I've seen for this class so far. Why is that the one you insist on using? Not to mention:
    • We have a stud QB for the next 2 years, with a highly recruited RS Freshman right behind him. (tough to talk someone else into coming sit the bench)
    • We have an entire stable of RBs who will be here for at least 2 more years
    • We have a couple dozen WRs that are still young and will be here for a while
    Where as Miami and Notre Dame NEED these positions NOW!!

    Where the majority of recruits come from is relative to where the talent is and should not be held against LSU or any team for that matter. For example, this year Nebraska signed 28 recruits. Only 6 were from the State. Quite different than LSU, USC, or Florida. But the truth is the talent level of Nebraska HS football doesn't compare to LA, CA, or TX.

    The key is to keep the top talent in the home state and fill the rest of the class with players that fit your system and style. Nebraska has always recruited Nationally because we have to. LSU can get away with primarily home grown kids. In the end you have an advantage with a home grown base.

    p.s. Thanks for the 2 LA boys. You can't keep all of them, I just hope they work out for the Huskers! :cool:

    LVT do me a favor.. Run the #s in the last 5 yrs and include the #1 and #2 ranked classes. It could be very intresting. Thanks

    EXCELLENT POINT!!! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

    If you check the '90's you'll see the same thing. So called CFB powers have the best recruiting class year in and year out. Only instead of LSU, you'll see Nebraska has 3 :crystal: and no #1 recruiting classes. The whole process is overrated.

    Sorry I pulled the history card...it's all I have left to play right now :grin:

    Now, I'm no expert about recruiting. It always seems a bit of a crap shoot to me. It seems, though, that we got some really good players, but also some really solid young men as well. These days, just recruiting kids who will stay out of jail seems to be difficult, never mind their athletic ability. All the ability in the world can't help out when they're in the slammer or on probation for doing too much stupid stuff.

    I guess all college guys do some stupid things...but not necessarily illegal things. I did my share...and I'm about as boring as they come. I think I was fifty when I was born.

    Anyway, aside from our situation, how in the world did Notre Dame get such a good class? Maybe Charlie told 'em all they would be starting this year. That's the only thing I can see that would be attractive at this point. And, well, I guess there's the ND tradition thing, too. That must be a large part of it. Any thoughts on this?
