I guess the point is that the journey to the championship game is, imo, the most important part. LSU faced a ton of adversity. OSU lost, but was easily able to shrug it off since it was Michigan week (And, in Ohio, your season is a success if you beat Michigan, regardless of the bowl result). Tougher schedule means more adversity. Ohio State walked all over a weak Big Ten. LSU had a ton of close battles that came down to the final seconds. Reminds me of 2005. USC walked all over their opponents, aside from Notre Dame. Texas had a tough game against Texas A&M, was down 28-12 at halftime against Oklahoma State, and barely escaped Columbus with a win against Ohio State (Texas took a 23-22 lead with 2:37 left in the game, and then finished it off with a safety to make it 25-22). USC was much more comfortable throughout the year.
There are no karma issues if someone else starts talking sheet first or have been consistently rude throughout the season, so go for it...:thumb: :thumb:
Don't sweat it, dude. I have been one of OSU's big defenders throughout the bowl season. It's just a little bragging and fun. Nothing to worry about.
I understand all that, but you said Virginia Tech was just a tad bit better than Washington? What? Washington went on a 6 game losing streak and lost to 5-7 Arizona, 6-4 Oreg St, and 5-7 Wash St, not to mention blowing a 21 point lead to Hawaii and finished the season 4-9. Virginia Tech only lost to LSU and BC, and ended up beating BC in the ACC Championship, and were ranked #3 going into their BCS game, which they lost to Kansas. Soo... how is VT just a tad bit better than Washington? Unless I completely misread your post, in which case my apologies.
There are many ingredients that make up a Real Champion. I believe two of the most important are "Graciousness" and "Humility". Ohio State is a good team. Those young men practiced and played as hard as our Tigers. Their fans love their Buckeyes as much as we love our Tigers. Defeat is a very painful thing, as we Tigers have experienced in our past. Let us revel in our glory but quit the bashing. We proved we are the best team in the nation on the field Monday night. As my dear father often said, and I firmly believe, "If you've really got it, you dont have to flaunt it. People just feel it and know it." LUVLES/WINMORE AND GEAUX TIGERS :geaux: :crystal: :helmet:
Let's act like we've been there before. :crystal: It's all good in jest.. but sometimes it can be carried to far. The bucks who visited/stayed here are all classy people from what i've seen. Note: I'm saving that 'crapped my pants' picture.
I'm sorry but am I the only one here who didn't think he was gloating? Like everyone has said before, this is an LSU forum and there are going to be things said on here rival teams aren't going to like. Does Tigerforums.com ban posters for making "corndog" comments? No (probably because it's the lamest joke in the whole of NCAA History). You just have to have tough skin in college football, I've been to many LSU games where LSU has lost and the opposing team just rubs it in as we take the walk of shame, what do you do? Start a fight? No, just take it as it is. I'm sorry buckeye but how can you not expect this? Much less be aggressive towards the OP for posting it?
True. I'll admit I was a little riled up by a couple of other posts, and have apologized for overstepping any bounds. The buckeyes are in a unique position however, as never in all my years of watching college football, has my team been labeled by the media as an arena league team playing in the NFL, or recieved such blatant trashing not only at the hands of fans, but the media as well. I LOVE sportscenter, but haven't been able to watch for fear that I'll throw my remote and break my TV. So again, sorry for being sensitive, but this crap infuriates me, and i'll try not to lump LSU's fans (who've been great), in with all the other idiots, in the future. The buckeyes will be back, and I will be blowing up Fiutak's email inbox when it happens!
