    TheDude I'm calmer than you.

The south La. bias bubbling in this thread is pretty funny. I certainly would not regard Shreveport as a tourist destination but I'm pretty sure you can say the same thing about every other city in LA, and N.O. 'aint what it used to be. I would have thought the city was dead 20 years ago, but they seemed to have turned a corner with the influx of Hollywood productions and the impending change of Barksdale's new mission. Combined with LSU/LaTech ventures, Shreveport's present and future is quite a bit brighter than most any other part of the state. Of course, I can still think of a lot better places to visit.

Oh, and to answer the "curious arrangement" of Hilton running a municipally owned property.....the downtown Hilton in Houston,(a flagship hotel), is owned by the City of Houston and run by Hilton. It's actually a fairly common arrangement for Hilton.

Though you're right Pod, it was a funny article.

    the bias is legit.

The south is known for New Orleans and Grand Isle and Fourchon (oil money)
The east is known for New Orleans
the west is known for Laffy and all of that insane good cajun culture and food

what is the north known for? west monroe football?
    making the "boot" look legit?

please note the sarcasm, i am just joking. :)

As my Pop (who had a thing for South Louisiana and refused to move northward, even within the state) used to say:

Everybody north of Baton Rouge was a Yankee; everybody north of Alexandria was a Damn Yankee.

Colorado fans apparently don't think much about it. They only sold 1000 0f their 12,000 ticket allotment.

To me, especially this time of year, Shreveport reminds me of Tuscalosa for some reason. Maybe its all the Tide fans that have started making it their second home.:hihi:
