I feel pretty confident that an SEC CG in Phoenix would be better attended by the respective fan bases of whatever teams were involved than is represented in that pic.
The SEC rules all except in terms of officiating. IMO, something needs to be done with officiating in the SEC......horrible. Every conference has problems but man, it has been especially bad the last few years. I want more admissions of errors in the SEC like other conferences do.....offically announce when officials are suspended for horrible errors.
Wow. This game is the main reason Boston College didn't get a Chik-Fil-A (I'll still call it the Peach, thank you) Bowl bid. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/story?columnist=schlabach_mark&id=3142612
According to game records, the ACC Championship game attendance was 53,211. That compares to the SEC with 73,832. If you're wondering, the Big XII had 62,585. If you want to take that and pump your SEC chest out I am here to bring you back down to earth. 3-9 Army v. 8-4 Navy drew 71,610. Still feeling good about the SEC? UCLA v. USC drew 91,553. So by your logic, the PAC 10 rules the SEC. I don't think so. By the way, Oklahoma v. Nebraska in last year's Big XII Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium drew 80,031. And it was damn cold too...not a dome.
Only, the UCLA/USC matchup wasn't an official conference championship game. Not to mention that UCLA and USC are both located in Los Angeles and that the game was at home for USC. Atlanta is over 500 miles from Baton Rouge and over 200 from Knoxville and yet despite this, it was still packed. Also, let's mention that the SEC Championship is consistently sold out year in and year out. The same cannot be said for the other conference championship games.

If the SECCG was in a building that held 200,000, then the game would have had an attendance of 200,000. There was only 73,832 because that's all the Georgia Dome holds. How can you compare one sell out to another? the whole point Mak was making is that the game could be played on the moon and there wouldn't be an empty seat at any SECCG game.
Considering that the Georgia Dome's seating capacity is 71,250!!! I think putting in 73,000 is darn good!!! If the Dome could hold a hundred thousand it would be filled to capacity every SEC Championship GAME!!!:thumb:
