1. Les just called out ESPN's Kirk Herbstriet by saying he can't help but think there was a motive behind the reports coming out Saturday morning.

He said he understands that you want to be the first to report a story, to be ahead of your competition, but that this was contrived to divert attention from the SECCG.
  2. I realize that Herbstreit isnt a trained journalist, but I believe that since he is in a reporting position he should be held to the same standards as any reporter should.

His "sources" were completely wrong, and he forced a coach to make a live press conference to defend himself and his team 2 hours before their conference's championship.

I think he should be held accountable ala Dan Rather style.
  3. Who else thinks his source was Desmond Howard? I hear he was on the UM coaching search committee, and if so, would certainly have inside info.

Wasn't he part of the ESPN broadcast team? I sure didn't see him at all this weekend, soooo.......
  4. I agree, but you have to think that ESPN is going to spin like a whirling dervish until Miles signs his contract, and Michigan hires another coach. I suppose Saban raised or rather, lowered the bar in that respect. Sure will be glad when the dust has settled over this and it's behind us.
  5. After reading the following it seems to Herbstreit did some creative journalism....

  6. I believe that to be the case. Howard was doing the Hawaii-Washington game Saturday night, so he was not on the Gameday set.

But no doubt in my mind that is where the info came from.
  7. Agree that it was Howard.
  8. I think he's lying guys, I think he's going. He did not flat out say "NO".

    You can't like that.
  9. You're either a trolll or you have been in a cave for the past 36 hours.
  10. I was in shock myself...I actually checked the date and time of the post thinking I had pulled up an old thread accidently!
