Say what you will, but I know if I'm a Florida fan, I'm going to be jacked up at the idea of playing a mid-level Big Ten team. Fired up, let me tell you. Point is, unless you're playing for all of the marbles, you're not as motivated when you're in a bowl that means little. I love my LSU team and they demoralized Miami in the Peach Bowl in 2005. Why? Was Miami really excited to be in the Peach Bowl? The answer is no, and it showed. It's easy to get lulled to sleep as a team in a bowl game when you're not exactly excited to be there. Just ask last year's Oklahoma team. Bowl games prove little. Petition the Big 10 teams to schedule more SEC teams in the regular season (a thing they refuse to do).
That was a nice copy / paste from an OSU board :dis: . At least come in here with original thoughts instead of trying to start **** and run.
Funny! And then he has the nerve to give me a neg. I know I am not a favorite around here but the facts of the SEC vs Big Ten speak for themselves and I gave a few facts. By the way, how does a person give rep points. I'm in the negative so i guess i can't give them.
not sure...I thought you had to be a contributor to give rep pts...ill help ya out on this one bro. :thumb:
It's times like these that make you wonder what type of guy post crap like this on other boards. He's the ultimate coward, Keyboard tough guy, mouse jockey. But really, he's that guy in school that had his briefs pulled so many times, that the elastic broke. And was forced to wear it as a headband. Donb, it's ok to be weaker that the most feminine woman in your self help classes. And we are all very, very sorry you had to endure a childhood to adult life of brief-abuse.
I live in Columbus, Ohio and I hear this kind of BS all day long, at work, at school, on local sports radio. Now all the talk is about tOSU making it to the NCG. They are so fired up around here after our Tigers lost to Ark. I have watched a lot of BIG 10+1-9 football this year and I can tell you this much they do not want to go to the NCG and be beaten like a step-kid as they were this past Jan. by FLA. Looking at WVU or MU or even our Tigers if they slip in the back door, tOSU will be cryin the blues once again as they did last year. Columbus will be one sad town come Jan. no matter if they play in the Rose Bowl or the NCG.:geaux:
donb, I think you typed your name too fast. Dear dumb, Jim Nantz looked into announcing Big 10 games this year because he could use his golf voice and still come in loud and clear over the crowd. The Big 10 has some good teams and is usually a good conference, but all the fans should dress in black because each game is like a funeral. At least last year's Michigan and Ohio St. game had a coffin (Bo S.) to go with it. The atmosphere is NO COMPARISON. That's why it is so hard to go on the road in the SEC and win (like Arkansas did to our team). For instance, LSU played against Ole Miss last week. They went winless in the SEC and just fired their coach. Yet, that place was SOLD OUT and LOUD. Big 10 stadiums are a joke. Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, The Quiet House, Northwestern, etc. Come on. Penn St. gets really loud, but that's about it. Ohio St. gets loud when everything is going right. Everyone goes on about the SEC because the games are EXCITING. There's actual CROWD NOISE to make you BELIEVE you're watching something FUN. And why do you keep referencing last year? Last year is OVER. This year the powerful Michigan lost to APPALACHACOLA ST. Get real. Congrats to the Big 10 for that first in Div. I. In the end, sure, SEC teams can lose to Big 10 teams and others on any given night. Our teams are not that superior. However, the overall package is absolutely SUPERIOR to anything else every other conference offers. Now sit back and hope that Ohio St. can sneak into the NC game and get blown out again. Go Tigers. P.S. - And when are y'all changing the name of the conference. You have 11 teams and are still called the Big 10. Just like your brand of football, you're stuck in the 70s.
The Big Ten is one of the main players responsible for not having a playoff system in college football. Ohio State played Akron, Kent State and Youngstown, a 4-8 Washington team, and about 2 games that were actually somewhat challenging. I figure that they have little motivation to have their conference champ beat up in the playoffs.
