With Bama losing today, :grin: an Auburn loss to UGA would clinch the SECW for LSU. This has to be the earliest the west has ever been decided. It usually goes down till the last week of the season. I think it's good and bad. Good in that we don't have to worry about losing to make it. But very bad if LSU puts in on cruise control. The SECCG is not the ultimate goal and the tigers know it. If we do clinch it today, I think this will be Miles' biggest test since becoming the tiger coach. Will Miles be able to get this team ready for the last three games with the west clinched? I think he will and I think the seniors (Flynn, Hester, Doucet, and co.) won't let this team let up.
Plus, a UGA win will help us in the SECCG, IMO. It may be easier to beat UT, but UGA could be ranked higher. Neither team scares me. But UGA is looking UGAly in the game...
If Auburn loses, absolutely Miles will keep this team ready to play. An SEC championship may have been good enough in years past, but not this particular season.
I don't think it matters at all. We clinched the west last week by beating Bama. We still need to win all our games, because we have our eyes on the big prize. So I'm sure Miles won't allow our players to come out unprepared, with the raised stakes.
No we didn't. Had Bama won out and we'd lost one, Bama would win the West. Now, we would need to win one to clinch over Auburn if they win, otherwise, it's our if Auburn loses.
Had Bama won out they would have the same SEC record as us but we would have the tie-breaker thus making us the west champs. Beating Bama essentially gave us a 2-game lead.
Read what I wrote again. Edit: We didn't clinch anything last week, we just put ourselves in a position to control our destiny. One more win would've clinched for us after last week. Now, it won't matter it Auburn loses because we will own the tiebreaker against both Bama and Auburn.
Yeah, but you also said "No we didn't" which i took as in response to me saying we won the west by beating Bama last week. Anyways it doesn't matter, we will more than likely win the west :thumb:
