I will be glad if we just win A game the way we have been puking motors lately. And I am a long time Dolphin fan...back to the early 70's....yeah, yeah, dating myself. So my grudge with Saban is what he left down there, much of what is going on is because of the crap job he did and what he left. I knew he was not going to be the second coming of Shula but I did hope for a bit more. I strongly feel LSU has a better head coach now. Saban is a good college coach and I will not give him anymore than that. Miles has bigger cahonies than Saban could ever hope to. At least the other college coaches that failed in the pros like Spurrier, Erickson, Carroll, Davis, and the rest were let go from thier pro jobs. Saban just tucked tail and quit and lied continually about it. But again I hope you guys take care of the Tide and all the rest for that matter. I still want and hope for the NC to stay in the SEC and I still feel that LSU is better than OSU and BC. Don't think either one of those teams would be undefeated if they played an SEC schedule. Again good luck on Saturday although I don't think Miles and the boys will need it.
I will always be gratefull to coach saban for what he did at LSU. But Les Milesa is our coach now and saban is in our way and we need to win. I dont care if he was Coaching USC if he is who we need to beat to get where we want to be then you beat him and move forward. He coaches for the enemy now. enough said. This is SEC football and it is not for the timid. You want to play cupcakes go the to Big 10.
I think this thread sort of echoes the second installment to ESPN's take on the Saban vs. LSU sentiment... thought I'd post this too. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3088098 Clearly, the point of this article and the thread calls out the animosity, debate and strong feelings that exist still to this day re Saban. I thought after the Florida game this season that perhaps Miles had shaken off some of the ghost... but I also stated wait until the 'Bama game. With a win today, Miles takes another step out of the shadow and with a loss, he's right back in it. The reality is, with Saban coming to the SEC West, it will be an annual, continual debate that will rage on until my guess after LSU wins a NC with Miles. Until then the comparisons will unfortunately continue. That said, it's unlikely that Saban will ever win a NC again, but Tiger fans will continue to agree to disagree on the issue... :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: :geaux: BEAT BAMA.
Coach Miles is his own man, I love his attitude. I liked coach Saban when he was here. Bottom line is, as long as we have a caoch who knows football and has a little class (and of course keeps the Tigers on a winning record) ultimately thats all that matters. Because thats what they get hired to do. I was a bit miffed about Saban taking the Bama job, the way it all went down, but at this point (at least for me), I could give a damn less who's coaching Bama as long as the Tigers come home with a "Win"! I do have a question though, regarding Bama...when did this game become a "rivalry" for us? I've been away from BR for many years, and I don't think I "ever" remember this game being played up that way. Or could it be just because of Saban? :geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux:
Gators are just having a bit of bad luck. They're still young, things will improve. I think my Tigers may have some "teething" pains next year as well. Losing a lot of quality guys to the NFL.
I had to take a 2nd look to see why you are upset with Vandy , you have a Gator heart ! that is ok , I would like to see Vandy put Tebow in his moms arms
I don't have the first grudge against Vandy, matter of fact it just did my heart good to see them beat SS. The "quote" (commodedoors) was from a friend of mine who's a rabid Gator fan. I thought it was kinda funny, so I used it. You should have noticed I live in Jacksonville, have for 16 years. So yea, I do pull for the Gators as long as they're not playing my beloved Tigers...BTW, I wear my LSU apparel year round over here...want them to all know:grin: Hope this explaination suffices... Other than that, I have mixed feelings over the NO/JAX game this weekend...hate it when they play each other.
Now to Saban , and Bama , and Terry P , and Bama > . Saban did what any of us do , he followed the money ! It has nothing to do with if he likes or dislikes LSU . He does not know most of us . it is a job. He will do it to the best of his ability . That means he will beat LSU 63 to 0 if he can . It means if he has to tell a player to take Matt Flynn out of the game then that is what he will do !! It is called winning the game !! The same thing that Les Miles has to do for us !! Les will try to beat Bama 63 to 0 if he can . it is his job to win . Me and you , and Terry P , and the rest of the Bama fans we get worked up have fun all week bite our toe nails cuss and drink and even bet a few bucks on someone eles's job .Then we get mad when we lose the bet.Blame it on the guys who wear a white shirt with black stripes , now ain't that something ? It would be a boring Saturday without Football . I checked in on Sabanville Alabama , Les Miles is running for Mayor over there . It is all about football and having fun. As log as there is football in the SEC we will be talking about Saban and Les Miles . We have been lucky at LSU we have had them both as Coach !! I like Les Miles Better , he is the "Mississippi Gambler " and sometimes you have to gambler to win , Nick is not a gambler , we know that ! He is a solid coach , he will go for a tie not a win The Gambler will win .
