what's up with this guy? is he earning his keep? seems to me he's not. i mean our receivers can't catch a freakin cold. if lafell catches that (admittedly poorly thrown) ball, we're set up to win the game before overtime. everyone wants to spread around blame right now, but to me, the biggest blame falls on the one receiving none right now -- dj mccarthy.
Most of the "poorly thrown" balls were actually right on the money... These young receivers do not know how to run their routes properly... In a timing offense, the QB throws the ball to a spot, not a guy.. its up to the guy to run to the spot and they haven't been...
yeah, there were a lot of poorly thrown balls but receivers have to help too. i don't care if you have to turn around to catch the ball. if it hits your hands or your chest, you have to catch that damn ball. our receivers are not doing that.
Todd Monken was not only the WR coach, but also the passing game coordinator the past two years. He was mad when he didn't get the OC job and Crowton did. He's now coaching for the Jacksonville Jaguars. LSU's passing offense is 88th in the nation.
Our receivers struggled in 04 & 05 too, yet they turned into first round draft picks by 06. Young receivers struggle. It's just that simple.
