Yeah, Toliver is going to be a good one. Imagine him three years from now. Byrd looked pretty good today, too. Tough day for LaFell. Play them all. Use every weapon.
It's a nice problem to have when you need to figure out a way to get TT the ball more, just shows how much talent we have. It's funny though, I read earlier today in another thread about next year being a "rebuilding" year for LSU. I don't know what team that person's watching, but I think LSU might be even better next year, at least offensively.
Not on offense, maybe on defense. We lose both corners, SS, a DT, DE, and 2 LBS. I think Tyson and Beckwith dont leave early. We could still easily be a BCS bowl team.
I know, that's why I said "at least offensively" we won't be in a rebuilding year. I think we will still be good on D, maybe not as good as this year, but still good enough to contend for a repeat!
Terrance Toliver Love this kid as a frosh. Is he ready to start if Doucet and or LaFell arent ready to roll on Sat night? I know its a tough spot to throw an 18 yr old into........
Re: Terrance Toliver Does anyone remember Harvey Williams coming out party against A&M many years ago on a big game Saturday night in Death Valley? A&M was suppose to win. Tommy Hodson kept getting the ball to Williams and he just ran and ran and ran. I think if we get the ball to Tolliver 6 times or more a star will be born. Funny thing is there are several other young guys that can do the same. He reminds me of Randy Moss. :geauxtige
Agreed. We have thrown the ball to him about once a game till now. Maybe we can get it to him 6-8 times on Sat night and see how he does.
Throwing to Toliver more right now = more picks & if he's the first or second read = more sacks. He doesn't know the playbook & while his natural ability is caring him & showing what he's capable of, that doesn't make him a great WR. Hester has been better & more consistent than Keiland. He doesn't have big play potential, but we don't need big play potential. In the SEC, you need a back that can get you the tough 4 yards. Keiland can do that as long as the holes open where they are supposed to, but lately he's been very tentative & going to where the hole is supposed to be - not where it is. No one is better at getting through the hole than Keiland, but he's had a lot of runs where he could have gotten yards but didn't see the hole.
